Reclaimed clay roof tiles
We can help source reclaimed clay roof tiles in traditional and machine-made styles. Availability varies, and reclaimed tiles can differ in colour, size and condition—even within the same type—so we’ll check the stock against the details you provide.
Handmade clay peg tiles
Traditional handmade peg tiles are often used on older properties and heritage roofs. We can help look for Kent, Sussex and other regional peg tiles, including tiles sometimes described as hanging tiles when used on external walls.
Common guide sizes include approximately 10 × 6 in, 10½ × 6½ in and 11 × 7 in. Older handmade tiles can vary, so please provide the measurements of your existing tile if you can.
Plain clay tiles
Plain clay tiles have a flat face and are commonly used on traditional roofs. We can help source reclaimed handmade or machine-made examples, including profiles such as Rosemary, Acme and Dreadnought, subject to availability.
A common modern plain tile size is about 265 × 165 mm, while reclaimed tiles may be closer to
10½ × 6½ in or 11 × 7 in. Always check the actual tile size and profile before ordering.
Clay pantiles
Pantiles have a distinctive curved or wave-shaped profile. We can help source traditional Norfolk, Dutch and other clay pantiles, as well as reclaimed interlocking pantile profiles. These are larger than plain tiles, and their curves and side profiles need to match the existing roof.
Interlocking clay tiles
We may also be able to source reclaimed interlocking clay tiles, including named profiles such as Bretton and other discontinued or less common types. Sizes and locking details differ between products, so please send photographs and measurements when asking us to find a match.
Reclaimed interlocking tiles
We can also help source reclaimed interlocking roof tiles, including popular profiles such as Double Roman, where available. Some familiar profiles are made from concrete rather than clay, so tell us whether you need a clay or concrete tile when you enquire. Similar-looking profiles are not necessarily interchangeable.
Help us match your roof tiles
To help us find the closest match, send us:
- Clear photos of the front and back of a tile
- The tile’s length and width
- The profile name or manufacturer, if known
- The colour and finish
- The quantity you need
- Your delivery postcode
For the most accurate comparison, include a photo of the tile beside a tape measure. Tell us if the tiles are for a repair or a larger roofing project, as this can affect the quantity and matching requirements.
Delivery across Surrey, Hampshire, West Sussex and UK
We can personally deliver reclaimed roof tiles within a 70-mile radius of Portsmouth. For customers elsewhere in the UK, we can arrange delivery by haulage. Delivery options and costs depend on the quantity, location and access.
